Assembled using rods and blocks of treated laminated wood, this inverted xylophone-like instrument features a series of acoustically reinforced rectangular bars struck by spring powered mallets with moving joint handles. Jumping from handle to handle has an effect similar to climbing through a musical scale.
A series of revolving cylinders sandwiched between two solid plywood sheets, suspended over an underground resonator. Modeled after musical boxes, pins are fixed inside each cylinder plucking a pitched metal bar as they rotate. Bars may be rearranged to produce a melody or alternate tunings.
